English translators prefer theory instead of treatise, although Deutsch has the word Theorie.

Spanish and French translators prefere treatise (tratado/traité).

Brazilian translator Marco Giannotti choose Doctrine (Doutrina) in his translation of Farbenlehre into Portuguese.
